The Best of Appellate Judge Tom Becker (May 2007 - present)
The Verdict: Collector's Edition (12 Jun 2007)
My first published review. The disc had been sent to me by mistake -- a rare assignment package mix-up -- but I was glad to get it, and I think the review worked out well.
Brain Damage (18 Jan 2008)
Alice, Sweet Alice (25 Jul 2008)
As a reader, I appreciated Verdict's reviews of obscure and cult DVDs. These were a couple of personal favorites that hadn't been covered, and Michael Stailey graciously gave me the green light to review them.
I Know Who Killed Me (19 Nov 2007)
Cult Camp Classics 2: Women in Peril (17 Jul 2007)
People either really liked these reviews or they loathed them, but I had a good time writing them.
Touch of Evil: 50th Anniversary Edition (7 Oct 2008)
20 Million Miles to Earth: 50th Anniversary Edition (10 Aug 2007)
Two monsters at half century and two of the best Anniversary editions I've had the pleasure of reviewing.
Two-Lane Blacktop: Criterion Collection (11 Dec 2007)
I'd have to include a Criterion disc on any Top 10 list. It was between this and Days of Heaven, which is a great movie, but Two-Lane Blacktop is just such a cool package.
The Sexploiters (12 Oct 2007)
I'm a big believer in smut as an important part of our cultural history, and nobody does classic smut better than Retro-Seduction. This disc is one of their bestÑfun film, great commentary and liner notes, and a keepsake slip cover.
Dirty Harry: Two-Disc Special Edition (3 Jun 2008)
Iconic Clint in a cool two-disc package. What more could you want?
