• Queer As Folk: The Complete First Season, courtesy Showtime Entertainment
Let's go back to the very beginning. As the groundbreaking Showtime series comes
to a close, we can look back and see how it all began for Michael (Hal Sparks),
Brian (Gale Harold), Emmett (Peter Paige), Ted (Scott Lowell), and Justin (Randy
Harrison). Contrary to popular belief, there's more to life than just sex for
these five gay friends. Three lucky winners will spend a season on Liberty
Street with QUEER AS FOLK: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON, courtesy of the drama
queens at Showtime Entertainment.
• The Dick Cavett Show: Rock Icons, courtesy Shout! Factory
When Dick Cavett joined the late-night talk show parade in 1969, his intelligent
wit pumped a much-needed breath of fresh air into the format. The show offered
guests a forum for controversial opinions and didn't shy away from an occasional
debate about women's liberation or the war in Vietnam. The Dick Cavett Show also
became the late-night home of rock 'n' roll, with a guest list that reads like a
who's who of the era's top performers. This three disc collection features nine
episodes from 1969 to 1974 featuring Janis Joplin, David Bowie, George Harrison,
Sly And The Family Stone, Stevie Wonder, and many more. Highlights include three
episodes with Janis Joplin and the infamous "Woodstock Show," taped
the day after the festival with guests Jefferson Airplane, Joni Mitchell, David
Crosby, and Stephen Stills. The shows also feature Cavett's interviews with many
of the fascinating personalities of the day from Gloria Swanson to Raquel Welch.
Two lucky winners will travel back in time to witness THE DICK CAVETT SHOW: ROCK
ICONS, courtesy of the music historians at Shout! Factory.
• Little Britain: The Complete First Series, courtesy Bbc Video
Take a journey around a small and surreal parallel universe peopled by
over-the-top eccentrics, lunatics, and social misfits. Meet Vicky Pollard, the
gloriously incoherent trailer trash teenager; Emily Howard, the world's least
convincing transvestite; and Andy, sitting all day in his wheelchair
painstakingly looked after by Lou, who has no idea his friend can walk. Witness
the breathtaking debris of modern life in all its glory. Two lucky winners will
each receive a trip to LITTLE BRITAIN: THE COMPLETE FIRST SERIES, courtesy of
the travel guides at BBC Home Video.
• Sorum, courtesy Tartan Video
Looking for a fresh start, a young taxi driver moves into apartment 504 of a
crumbling tenement. He soon discovers the previous tenant died mysteriously and
everyone on the floor is somehow connected to the dead man. After befriending
the battered wife living a few doors down, he stumbles into an affair that sends
them both down a dark path. But there's something else odd about the atmosphere
in the run-down building. Does a ghost haunt those living here, or does true
evil exist in those left alive? Two lucky winners will each discover the truth
of SORUM, courtesy of the paranormal investigators at Tartan Video.
• Dogs For Dummies, courtesy Razor & Tie Entertainment
From the creators of the best selling "For Dummies" book series comes
the first branded DVD on how to select, train, and care for your dog. Hosted by
Jenny Taylor, DVM, one of the Bay Area's leading vets, you will not only learn
how to select and care for a new pet, but also discover how to solve common
canine behavioral problems, and much more. Two lucky winners will each take home
a copy of DOGS FOR DUMMIES, courtesy of the PETA members at Razor & Tie.
• The Office: Season One, courtesy Universal
In this hilarious and faster-paced adaptation of the hit BBC series, Steve
Carell is Michael Scott, the egotistical, insensitive, and almost supernaturally
incompetent regional manager of the Dunder Miffin paper supply company. Michael
sees himself as the office funnyman, a fountain of business wisdom and his
employees' cool friend. He has no clue that his staff merely tolerates his
inappropriate behavior because he signs their paychecks. Michael acts as the
obnoxious tour guide for an omni-present documentary crew who unflinchingly
capture his many shortcomings along with Dunder Miffin's petty workplace
politics, simmering romances and side-splittingly awkward moments. One lucky
winner will intern at THE OFFICE: SEASON ONE, courtesy of the work release
program at NBC/Universal Home Video.
