Even though Eric was born and raised in the highly ethnic suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio, he can count on one hand the number of times his last name has been pronounced correctly on the first attempt. (It's really not as hard as it looks.) A native of Parma, Ohio - not the one in Italy but the one in the theme song to The Drew Carey Show (when is the rest coming out on DVD?!?) - living in Cincinnati, Ohio, he is still a hopeless fan of his hometown teams, the Indians and the Browns, even though they're often painful to watch.
Eric is a full-blooded Trekkie. He loves all the shows (OK, not Enterprise so much and blah! on The Animated Series), all the movies (even number five and definitely number ten and hooray for J.J. Abrams), and has even gone to a few conventions wearing a Starfleet uniform. As such, he's highly partial to science fiction movies, but enjoys anything with quality explosions in it.
He would like readers to know that he approaches his work from a semi-casual perspective in that his reviews are geared for the average viewer/reader. He won't nitpick all the tiny errors in video and/or audio transfers. He looks for an overall quality level indicative of the technology. He knows not everyone will see every error, and that is to whom he writes. If he misses something or doesn't mention it, it's possible he didn't want to spout too much technobabble in his review and doesn't significantly affect the overall presentation.
