Jennifer Malkowski grew up in Chicago and spent her childhood watching movies, going to Disneyworld, and canoeing the rivers of Indiana. One of her earliest film memories is seeing The Godfather at age seven. She remembers her little sister asking, in a quavering voice, “Daddy, why is there a horsey’s head in that man’s bed?!?” Despite this early trauma, Jennifer became a film studies major at Oberlin College and is now working on her PHD in film studies at UC Berkeley.

Jennifer lives in Oakland with her girlfriend and a huge collection of Buffy the Vampire Slayer merchandise. She spends most of her time trudging through film theory books, going to the movies, reading comics, and preparing for the inevitable zombie plague.
