Jim Thomas began his tech writing career gun-running in the Duchy of Grand Fenwick. Once he realized that there were few technical writing opportunities in the freedom fighting industry, he jumped ship. He then signed a lucrative free agent contract to serve as Freedonia's Minister of Information in the cabinet of Rufus T. Firefly. He is widely credited for securing Firefly's second term with the audacious ad campaign, 'Desperate Times Call for a Desperate Candidate.' Tiring of the political arena, Jim turned to software development, first as a trainer, then as a technical writer. He occasionally teaches composition at several local universities, where he attracts standing room only crowds for his lecture, 'Punctuating with Fiber: Preventing Your Colon From Becoming a Semi-colon.' His hobbies include cultivating organic crabgrass, zero-gravity bungee jumping, and beating information out of programmers.
