Judge Victor Valdivia began writing at an early age, even before he knew how to read, speak, or process oxygen. He immigrated to the United States from Mexico when he was five years old and did not speak a word of English. Sadly, he still doesn’t. Nonetheless, he worked for several years as a computer programmer, all the while finding time to write for such sites as All-Music Guide and Anti-Music.com. Having tired of the endless glamour and thrills of writing software to keep track of things no one cares about, he decided instead to do things that actually matter and are more rewarding. Currently, in addition to writing for both DVD Verdict and PopMatters, he is a social worker in Tucson, AZ, working with at-risk youth as well as adults with mental health issues. As always, he tries his best to keep people safe from the greatest threats a society can face: flipper discs and pan-and-scan transfers.
