With the new season fast approaching, the major networks are getting ready for Upfronts where they'll announce their fall slate of TV shows.
Even though sitcoms have been on the outs, there are plenty in development and several that should have been left on the drawing board.
ABC has Cavemen - based on the Geico ads, (yes really) and they swear it won't just be for laughs. Apparently cavemen have their sensitive side, too.
NBC has Area 57 - a comedy about the team assigned to guard a crude manipulative alien (aren't they all?).
The CW has M.I.L.F and Cookies - about four single moms who band together to raise their kids. Nice show idea, but how long will it take the censors to realize that MILF is a dirty word?
And in the "this has to be a joke" category,
Fox's Me & Lee?
Suffering from back pain and a disapointing life, Joel gets more than he bargained for when he undergoes bionic surgery in Lee Majors' secret basement lab.
This is either a joke or a really brilliant Seth Green series.
Add to this a vet who hates animals but loves his job because of the women he meets, a romantic comedy set at a funeral, two shows about people rejected from hell and forced to live "hell on earth" and a couple of series that might actually make it. We shall see.
