New or old, regardless of format, we love talking about movies and the people who make them

The range of good ("La Strada"), bad ("Flash Gordon") and ugly movies ("Hannibal Rising") that this guy produced is unbelievable: http://www.deadline.com/2010/11/r-i-p-dino-de-laurentiis/. :(

It is sad to see him go, but my gosh... he was in his 90s. He wins my award for Sci Fi spectacular cheese what with BARBARELLA, DUNE, and FLASH GORDON all being his fault from some angle or other. What a legacy to leave behind!

Hell, I'll give the guy credit for fathering the hottest TV cook in the business, as well as producing some FUN, not necessarily GREAT movies...

Aww, no!

Wow, I've been so familiar with that name for many many years.
So many movies I watched where I'd see his name up first in the opening titles.

(eek! His works include Barbarella and Dune? Didn't care for those...)

Ahh, Flash Gordon 8)
Granted it's a bit cheesy and some parts are just ridiculous - but it is a fun movie!
My guilty pleasure for a good laugh.
