I can watch all the Criterions I want, but I grew up watching the Police Academy movies, and will miss Sgt. Hightower.

My he rest in peace and God be with his family. I also grew up with the Police Academy movies, and while they haven't aged well, Bubba Smith was always a highlight in them.

I'll always remember he and Butkus doing the Lite Beer commercials, and the fact that he threw away TONS of money when he walked away from them because he saw a bunch of teenagers drunk and decided that pushing beer wasn't as important as teaching kids to be smart. Very, very classy man. And a freaking beast on the football field. R.I.P., Bubba.

I really loved this guy. He gave off this truly lovable vibe for such an unassuming presence... May God open his arms to him...
