Agreed, these films are fantastic. And the review does take HIT Entertainment to task for disc setup but does not hit hard enough on the fact that HIT Entertainment choose to present Loaf and Death in a pan-and-scan format, not the correct wide screen. Note that the bonus feature on the making of Loaf and Death is in anamorphic wide screen, including scenes from the film.
Considering how little of the DVD space is utilized, both wide screen and pan-and-scan versions could have been put on the disc if there had to be a pan-and-scan presentation (I guess they think, since these are "children's show", the little tots don't want to watch wide screen shows on the 54" plasma sets in their bedrooms and therefore just give us pan-and-scan).
Great shows, very poor DVDs.
And, yes, I have R2 disc on order from Amazon.co.uk.

That review shows the Video Format as 1.78:1 Non-Anamorphic (1080p).

Obviously I am an old geezers who is not up on the latest technology.
It is written at avsforum.com that while a DVD can be formatted for either 4:3 (non-anamorphic) or 16:9 (anamorphic), a BLU-RAY is natively 16:9 and so there is no need for an anamorphic format (as long as the aspect ratio is 1.78:1 or less; at aspect ratios great than 1.78:1 - like 2.35:1 - you can argue that there should be BLU-RAY anamorphic format - which does not now exist - but hey, it's still higher resolution than an anamorphic DVD).
Now if the above is wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me.
And I still think the U.S. Hit Entertainment DVD is poor and await my R2 DVD from England.
