So how do you clean your plasma screen?

If you feel the need to talk about things other than entertainment, just keep it clean

I have two rear projection LCD flat panel Sonys and I'm terrifed to clean them or even wipe the dust off the screens. I'd love to know myself.

I got futureshop to throw in the monster cleaning kit when i bought my TV - it's basically water in a spray bottle with a very light cleanser added and a really cool microfibre cloth that will not scratch the screen.

Any soft, clean cloth will do. If you want to be really careful, get the kind used to clean discs.

I'm lucky. I bought a 47" HDTV (Olevia 747i) with a thick and heavy 1.5" thich glass in front of the screen. The glass works both as a light difuser (keeps the screen from reflecting like a mirror) and to protect the screen from flying Wii remotes (which apparently have broken more than a handful of flat screens) and other stuff. I can just grab a wet towel or Windex with paper towels and go to town on my HDTV to keep it clean. Most plasmas are already glass though (very fragile and thin to boot) so experts recommend a soft dry cloth be smoothly applied evenly to the screen. Never use anything that could leave streaks on the glass that could permanently damage the glass.

I have been using this for a couple of years now. Works pretty well.

I across to this thread because I am looking a good cleaner for my 50 inch Plasma TV. My Plasma TV has not been cleaned for almost 1 year. That's a good cleaner HGervais but it seems that the item is out-of-stock. There anyone here could pm me where to get a good cleaner.

For mine I use a soft paper towel but really something designed for TVs would be better. I have seen paper towels scratch cheap plastic. TV's aren't as easily scratched but the point is it's possible.

I use a simple glass cleaner without ammonia. I don't know if the ammonia would hurt or not but I don't want to chance it. Spray it on the towel, or be very careful not to let it run into the bezel if you spray the screen (like me).

You can be very anal and very cautious but really there is a point where you just have to clean the thing.

I agree with this. I found even expensive spray cleaners left weird streaky crap on the screen. I think as long as nothing actually gets spilled on the screen just a wipe with a cloth is fine.
