As noted on Facebook the other day, "Up To Me" by Dylan is on a constant loop in my head, especially these lyrics, If I'd thought about it I never would've done it, I guess I would've let it slide,
If I'd lived my life by what others were thinkin', the heart inside me would've died.
I was just too stubborn to ever be governed by enforced insanity,
Someone had to reach for the risin' star,
I guess it was up to me.

Brilliant song, brilliant album. Funny that the best concept album is the one meant to satirize the genre. Thanks to Victor Valdivia; his review of the Tull documentary reminded me that it's been way too long since I've heard Ian Anderson blow his mighty flute.

Theme from Assault On Precinct 13 - John Carpenter. So simple, so effective.

Killing Fields - Slayer. Definitely one of my favorite Slayer songs.

That Midnight Special appearance is my favorite TV appearance by Kiss......raw, before they were big and I love how it goes black and white for Black Diamond only....

I also get a kick out of the different version of 'She' that they do, before it was ever on an album. (not counting the Wicked Lester version they did)

And Gabriel, your welcome.......Fate were great no doubt...if only he toned his voice down and dispensed with the makeup they could have been bigger.....his solo stuff is just not the same.
Although Fatal Portrait is unique, it kinda sounds like Fate a little....

True that his solo stuff is different. As I said before I'm coming to them as a King Diamond fan. I've loved him ever since I heard the title track to Abigail about 9 years ago. I was 6 when the album first came out ;-)

Fate is awesome in its own way though. The main difference being that Fate is more raw and stripped down while King Diamond is about Grand Guignol and more operatic...

Burn Your Name by Powderfinger - Australia's biggest band. Never amounted to much outside of there (The 'Vulture Street' album made some headway into Canadian radio and tv back in 2001 or 2002), but they are a great rock band, and sadly just announced their farewell tour.
