What's your song of the day?

Ride My Rocket by Pantera. The group would eventually disown their first four glam/hair metal albums. They're mainly subpar even for the genre but they still contain a few gems like this enjoyably cheesy song.

Never cared enough to bother looking them up (Phil always sounded like he was throwing up, and Dime's guitar tone sounds like he's using aluminium wrapped guitar picks) but that was absolutely goddamn hilarious!

I remember when Pantera was an 80's glam style act...My buddy had one of their cassettes .....I remember one song : "Heavy Metal Rules".....It was hilarious even by the standards of the time....always had a giggle at that one and I liked metal.

batshit crazy jazz singers are still alive as well... for now... I still can't get past her rambling awards speech about her boyfriend making people disappear and what not... amazing voice though.
Love them husky voiced dames...

speaking of awesome female vocalists: Words cannot describe the awesome contained in this tune.

Nightcall by Kavinsky & LoveFoxx with a tie for a close 2nd are Under Your Spell by Desire and A Real Hero by College featuring Electric Youth from the Drive soundtrack. I'm in 80's heaven even though all those songs were just made a few years ago. Drive: A great movie with a great soundtrack. I'm ashamed for taking so long to buy it.

San Diego Serenade by Tom Waits. Simple and beautiful. ''I never knew the melody until I needed the song.''

Matt Mays - The Past - No better tune to be playing when you're driving home after an exhausting weekend of Security duty at a shitty concert festival (Carly Jepsen, Flo-Rida, Uncle Kracker, Cheap Trick and Aerosmith - woo-ha) and you're over 500 kilometers from your kids...
