I'm back!

Well it's been about 3 weeks since I've been without a computer. A storm hit back then and I lost 4 DVD players, a TV (thank God not the Plasma!), and my computer plus one of my Comcast boxes and my ethernet connection on my modem.
I should recoup some money from insurance, but after getting back Saturday from a week at Myrtle Beach, S.C I went to the Apple store and got me a new iMac. 24" monitor 1 TB hard drive and 4 gig memory. Oh it's a beauty!
Didn't lose too much from my fried iMac and a friend of mine said he can retrieve some stuff. Heck it was almost 8 years old and I was just waiting for Snow Leopard to be released, but an upgrade is only 29.00, so it worked out.
I've been a lurker here when I'm at work, couldn't post anything though. And yes, it is always a good thing to back-up stuff you really need. You always hear that but sometimes never figure it's gonna happen to you. But I did back-up my most important stuff.
Now I have to get a surge protector installed on my breaker box. Just goes to show that those ones on the strips don't work when the storms as wicked as it was that night. I would have unplugged stuff but it hit while I was coming home from work. The lights were already out when I got home.
The DVD players were the weird thing I had six. Two dvd recorders, the cheap Liteon one survived. The nice Samsung one did not. A cheap Coby and a cheap RCA both died as did my Cyberhome upconvert HDMI, my ancient crappy Cyberhome also survived. Go figure?
I'm going to replace my upconvert with a Blu-Ray player soon. So I guess that's a plus.
Anyway, nice to be back. Miss anything?

Mancini learned to love again, and Vargas made a casserole that consists of mostly macaroni and cocaine.

So Dan & Sax are a couple again and they went to dinner at Vargas' house? Hmmm...
