Animal Farm TV movie - not quite Orwell-tastic.

Is it just me or is the whole point of the original Orwell story lost in the newish Hallmark tv movie?

Kids today just don't appreciate allusions to the Russian revolution anymore.

What is this country coming to?

I mean in the TV movie, they updated the story to modern times and now Orwell's story point is lost.

I don't think updating it to modern times makes any real difference. You lose the specific social/political events Orwell is referring to, but you still get the main point he was trying to make, which was to show what happens to society when evil forces are allowed to go unchecked.
