Something Something Something Dark Side

Postby Eric Profancik » Wed Dec 30, 2009 6:57 am

I received this disc for Christmas and while I really enjoyed "Blue Harvest" I don't find "Dark Side" that funny at all. It has it's moments, not many of them, but it does have them. In going around the web everyone is saying that "Dark Side" is as funny as "Blue Harvest" and that surprises me. Just curious, anyone else not so impressed by this second outing? (I'll mention that I do not watch "Family Guy.")

I thought the first two thirds of Blue Harvest was laugh out loud hilarious, and amazingly clever for a Family guy outing. The final Peter/Chris moment had me close to pissing my pants with laughter as well. Dark Side was weak, lame, stupid, and completely unfunny, not a single moment even brought a grin to my face. The whole runtime was met with loathing and disdain. Even the Robot Chicken - Family Guy rivalry joke at the end had all the subtlety of a jackhammer, and all the cleverness of a sack of doorknobs. Seth McFarlane needs to go away. Like, yesterday.

So, are you saying you didn't like it, Steve?

You put it far too mildly.

Wow. I'll agree it was lame, but the carbonite mooning sequence did elicit a laugh (maybe the only one).

I have to agree that this one mostly went *thud*. The funny bits were only peppered throughout sparingly. Mostly, it was a faithful recreation of the plotline of ESB. It had its moments, but not many.

Pardon me, but I loved it! From the opening scroll, to the "I'm right here you f*ckers!", I laughed all the way, but it's all subjective...oh well.
