Streets of Laredo

As I'm now hooked on Larry McMurtry story, I'm researching the second of his story's Streets of Laredo. Interestingly enough there are two DVDs avail.

An expensive 2001 release that clocks in at 224 minutes and a 2010 release timed at 4 hrs 23 mins that is much cheaper. But after an hour of searching the net, I cannot find any other diference between the two. I'm likley going to go with the longer cheaper version,,,unless I'm missing something??
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive...those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
