Growing up in that era in a one tv household I pretty much
had to watch it on Saturday nights or, at least, hear it in the background if I tried to do something else. Still have polka nightmares.

Although I did have a crush on the youngest of "The Lovely Lennon Sisters" at the time and looked forward to seeing them. Oh, the shame! My salvation came when my parents bought me a small tv of my own and I could choose my own programming which meant out with Welk and in with
Mission Impossible.
