Blow?

I watched the Blu-Ray version of Blow last night, couldn't put my finger on it but the transfer looked a little odd. I know it's not the intended look of the film since I once owned it on standard DVD. The colors looked washed out as if someone took a paintbrush and colored them in. There's also this strange flicker that occurs whenever the scene calls for dark. Has anyone experienced this sort of thing with this disc? Is it a defect or a bad transfer?

It's been years since I've seen it, but I recall that Ted Demme employed a wide variety of visual mumbo-jumbo throughout the flick because...well, just because. I'd bet what you saw was intentional.
