I've noticed a really strange thing about my Blu-Ray player; it plays standard DVD'S really, really badly. The picture is all muddy and grainy and it doesn't even fill the screen. It looks dreadful. When I play a Blu-Ray disc, it's outstanding, everything is as it should be and more. I can see every little detail in all it's Blu-Ray goodness.
Now here's where I think it gets weird: I have three or four other DVD players, all hooked up to my Hi-Def set. I have a Samsung DVD/DVD Recorder that provides a stunning picture, even for standard DVD. It upconverts to 1080p, just like my Blu-Ray, but what I don't understand is the picture quality between both players. The Samsung picture is flawless, if I dare say it, the picture is up-to-par with my Blu-Ray. I can't for the life of me figure out why this is?
All HDMI cables are attached as they should be, everything is set up pretty much the same, I just don't get it.
It's not as though I really need you, if you were here I'd only bleed
