When will region free Blu Ray players be available ?

As you wouldn't (if you resided in Australia where I am) be able to purchase a region 1 Blu Ray disc
of a new film purchased from the US and be able to watch it in the Blu Ray player you bought in your
country, when will region free Blu Ray players be released. Someone said Blu Ray computer drives
(that are currently quite expensive), are region free.

There are a few out there now. Try sites like Yesasia.

If the idea of a region free blu-ray drive for PC strikes you as too expensive, you may not want to bother looking at the players either.

Do a google search on "OPPO region free blu-ray" and you should find some reputable dealers. The player does have to be hacked, but I've had no problems with mine.

If you mean this, are their Blu Ray players region free ?. It wouldn't be viable to me,
as I reside in Australia (that's region 4, whereas North America is region 1), not the
US where this company is based.

To my knowledge, all Oppo products are region-free.

Thanks sir. As that brand is only available in the US, are there any other
Blu Ray player brands that one can get hacked and who would one have to go see
to do that.

Oppo offers international shipping. If their players aren't out of your price range, I'd go with them. They make excellent players -- much better than most big name manufacturers. And no hacking necessary.

I've dealt with this company for several years now and have had great experiences in each case.
