Complete details and artwork available at the Criterion web site.

New to blu-ray and already part of the collection:

#35-Diabolique/Henri-Georges Clouzot
#146-Solaris/Andrei Tarkovsky
#237-Smiles of a Summer Night/Ingmar Bergman
#259-Fat Girl/Catherine Breillat

And new to the collection:

#563-Something Wild/Jonathan Demme
Featuring a killer soundtrack and electric performances from Jeff Daniels, Melanie Griffith, and Ray Liotta, Something Wild, directed by oddball American auteur Jonathan Demme, is both a kinky comic thriller and a radiantly off-kilter love story.

#564-Pale Flower/Masahiro Shinoda
In this cool, seductive jewel of the Japanese New Wave, a yakuza, fresh out of prison, becomes entangled with a beautiful yet enigmatic gambling addict; what at first seems a redemptive relationship ends up leading him further down the criminal path.

The special features on the Something Wild disc seem really slim. Is this a case of the movie being so hard to find that virtually any release is a cause for celebration? Doesn't seem quite likely, but then again, I've never heard of the flick.

I love Something Wild and it is probably my favorite Demme film. With it you understand why for a brief moment Melanie Griffith was considered a star and Ray Liotta? Wow. Just wow.

Oh and forgot a little known title called The Great Dictator/Charles Chaplin which will be spine number 565. In his notorious masterpiece The Great Dictator, Charlie Chaplin offers both a cutting caricature of Adolf Hitler and a sly tweaking of his own comic persona.
