Lousy reviews aside...

Fred Claus moves to our "Buy Pile".

The whole family gave it a thumbs up after last night's viewing.

Not the greatest Christmas movie ever, but I've seen worse. And when I'm stuck with ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas where apparently Dr. Dolittle 3, Harry Potter and the Incredibles qualify as "Christmas Movies", it's good to have a real Christmas movie to toss into the rotation when we play our own favorites to make up for their shortcomings.

I watched it last night with my niece Courtney and we both enjoyed it as well.
Not a Christmas "Classic", but well worth checking out during the holiday season.
We laughed, she cried. It was fun.

I discovered Cowboy Bebop: Remix complete series for around CDN$35, far below the usually exorbitant anime prices we pay here, so I'm finally going to check it out and see what all the fuss is about.

Here's hoping. I'll let you know what I think after checking out a couple of episodes.

Resist the urge to watch it in Japanese and go for the English dub. It's really the best way to experience the show, and is very well executed.

And don't bother telling us until you hit episode 5--that's when things start to get really interesting.

Picked up a used copy of Bewolf: Unrated as well as the new David Byrne/Brian Eno CD, which is pretty freaking amazing!

You mean I'm not the only one who thinks that?

I was starting to wonder.

But yeah, I still think it's the greatest Anime series of all time.

Don't be surprised if you have a strong urge at the end to go and get all the music for it.

As for me, I bought the Star Trek movie box set on Ebay for about seventy bucks.

Not too bad, I suppose.

Hey there,

Just Abbott and Costello: The Complete Universal Pictures Collection (upgrade from the Best of... volumes). That's enough (but boy did I catch it from Becky when I got it home).

Picked up a used copy of Beowolf as a blind buy. Also purchased the complete Sun Records recordings featuring Johnny Cash, the three disc Johnny Cash At Folsum Prison and the new David Byrne/Brian Eno CD, Everything That Happens Will Happen Today. The release of the year for me. It's pop with brains & heart and Byrne has rarely sounded better. Great record.

That Johnny Cash set is really awesome stuff.

You should definitely love it.

I keep meaning to get Jerry Lee Lewis' Sun Studios collection, but I think it's out-of-print or something.
