I've toyed with the idea of grabbing the Black Frieghter on Blu-ray as a companion piece, and it can be had pretty cheap - so i'll probably go that route - then again, i'm a sucker for documentaries, and isn't there a new one on the ultimate cut that's pretty extensive?

I did the same, but now I'm going to go ahead and buy the director's cut.

Nope, no new documentary, just the motion comic and some extras ported over from the Tales of the Black Freighter disc. This does seem to be the sort of movie that's crying out for some comprehensive 3-hour documentary, though.

That's $10.00 more than I payed for it on amazon. It must have jumped up right after street date.

Amazon doesn't even have it. just a "not in stock - will ship when available" notice.
Far from the first time Warner has delayed a catalog release in Canada. Probably pop up in a few weeks.
