Paths of Glory and Seven Samurai... here I come!

Do they include blu-ray? and do they ship to Canuckistahn?

As long as we're on the subject of Criterion, if they can release The Killer and Hard Boiled, where's my copy of Hard Target: Criterion Collection? If they can't find a university egghead who will lower himself to do so, I'm willing to contribute a scholarly video essay on the resonant power of high-waisted jeans and greasy mullets in '80s action cinema.

And, yes, I'm waiting for the B&N sale to pounce on Seven Samurai like a hobo on a grilled cheese.

I love the prices and I'll be there for The Thin Red Line & Black Orpheus but this time I'll forego the "free shipping" option-Took about a month to get my last order. Live and learn.

If you're talking about the awesome "America Lost and Found" set, then probably not. It comes out two days after the sale ends.

So far ordered:
Battle of Algiers
Films of Theodor Dreyer
Seven Samurai (Blu)
Night of the Hunter (Blu) pre-order

I will almost certainly order many more and thus exceed my all-too-flexible, self-imposed spending limit.

Charade

Seven Samurai

All in Blu.

I think that B&N is making a killing. I surprised that more retailers don't follow suit unless they're getting a special wholesale price.

A suggestion-Rather than having two threads running on what we're getting how about tossing this over to the buying one. Just a thought.

I was wearing that stuff before the sale except I prefer a fez. No sissy berets for me.

Ah but Harold, this is where you're wrong! There's nowhere near enough homophobic or flatulent humor, or rapid MTV editing to make these films "for the people!"

I've shown remarkable restrain considering I'm itching to buy a ton of stuff. So far only House, Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence and Paths of Glory (all Blu-ray) have left the store with me.

Yup. This time I went for the regular shipping. What a difference! Days instead of weeks. Even the backordered The Thin Red Line didn't take more than 10 days.

B&N's site is wonky. They mix and match like mad if you're not careful. The first time I went over there I was amazed what Criterion had released. I'm sure Criterion was amazed as well. Good luck in getting them. Mind you, Criterion pricing on regular studio releases is a definite burn. Even at 50% off I think it would still be higher than MSRP.

Well, I will have to wait a bit longer for Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence and Antichrist. Barnes and Noble hopes to ship it within the next 30 days. The rest are in, including Two and a Half Men. I just have to watch the whackiness of what my life would have been (without freaking commercials!) if I hadn't straightened up! ;-)
