Digging into the random cheap bins, I found these awesome discs:

The Boris Karloff Collection (Night Key/Tower of London/The Climax/The Strange Door/The Black Castle)
A Woman of Paris/A King in New York from the Chaplin Collection
A Kiss Before Dying (1956)
The Great House Detective

And, from the "dang it, full price!?" side of things:

TCM Greatest Classic Films Collection - Horror (Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde/Freaks/The Haunting/House of Wax)

Jason and the Argonauts (Blu-ray)
Oliver Stone's Nixon: Election Year Edition (Blu-ray)
- $8 and $10, respectively.
Robert Duvall's The Apostle/Michael Tolkin's The Rapture - replacement Xmas gifts for my bosses; they didn't like my "Dexter: Season One" gift AT ALL and these will be replacements.

Out of curiosity, is there any significance to the religious theme of both replacement flicks you've selected? Also, what was it about Dexter that turned them off?

What kind of person complains about a Christmas gift?! And why would you buy a replacement? If they didn't like what they got, tough. They should suck it up and appreciate the thought behind it.

^^^ Well, basically they didn't like "Dexter" as a character or his actions (even though I explained to them the series and character evolves as it goes along) and that spawned a deep and intense religious debate between us (I'm Atheist, they're Catholics but cool-enough to like Obama, support abortion and laugh along with "The Sopranos") that's lasted a couple of weeks now. Basically I want to get the "Dexter" box set back from them so I can send it to someone else that hasn't seen the show (I know lots of these), and I feel I have to give my bosses something in return or then the whole point of giving them a Xmas gif is lost. "Dexter" shouldn't be sitting in the shelf or basement of someone that's not going to like or enjoy it, it should be in the wild recruiting potential viewers to its wonderful, twisted TV universe. That's why I'm getting them religious movies: to get the "Dexter" DVD set back and so we can continue this interesting religious talk we've been having.

The only thing missing from Sony's blu-ray of The Social Network is a Criterion spine number.

^^^ Agree, got it yesterday and watched a little bit of it (primarily to sample the commentaries) last night. Fincher knows how to movies right on home video; even the packaging (which at first I resented for all the pull quotes on the cover) can be elegantly disposed of if one chooses to do so. So, when's Criterion's treatment of "The Game" and a BD version of "Panic Room" coming out? :)

What?! Not only are the quotes treated beautifully from a typographic standpoint, it makes total sense for the movie! It's one of my favorite package designs of the new year.

Just ordered my first Warner Archive releases.

The Outfit - I have never seen, but I always wanted to. Love a good, tough little thriller, and heard nothing but great things about the film.

Steel - terrible film that I saw in theatre's at at 13. However, me and a friend are thinking of doing a discussion of the film at some point soon, and I think taking a look at it again would be worthwhile.
