Yesterday was pretty light. I only bought The Errol Flynn Signature Collection, Volume 2 as a late birthday gift to myself. Always wanted to see more of Flynn's output since seeing him in Adventures of Robin Hood and Prince and the Pauper... very much looking forward to it.

You should check out Captain Blood and The Sea Hawk. They are easily Flynn's best after Robin Hood and are also directed by Michael Curtiz.

Some of the films on vol. 2 are excellent-The Charge of the Light Brigade, Dawn Patrol, and Gentleman Jim are all top-drawer. The Adventures of Don Juan is very good also but Flynn's excesses are taking their toll on him by then and he looks older than his years.
Outside of the boxsets get Objective Burma. It is an excellent, though not historically accurate, WWII drama.

just ordered new release Man in the Iron Mask (1939) to add to my James Whale collection ... everyone is familiar with his three A list Universal monster films and it is taking for ever for his more unknown films to get released. Where they may not have the scripting they all seem to have Whale's signature a la Val Lewton.
