The last known Blockbuster in my area had what will probably be the last store closing sale I'll ever see.

At least for $25 I got:
Ondine
Before the Devil Knows You're Dead
Witness
Pontypool
Haywire
True Grit
(the original)
+1. this is very interesting.

Blu:
Samsara
Baraka
Barbarella

I just realized all these end with an a, weird! :o

Just a Heads Up:
The annual B&N July Criterion sale starts tomorrow @12AM (ish). In the past, a computer glitch would allow you to get the 50% off and also get the previous promotion of buy 2 get one free. It's a glitch so it may or may not happen and it only lasts for a short time if it does. ;-)

The glitch didn't happen. :( Oh well, now I don't feel rushed to choose. ;-) I just got Hulu Plus so I can preview titles that previously would have been blind buys. :D

I wish our GameStop still sold used DVD/Blu. I got quite a few good deals there. They stopped a few years ago and the closest things are the PSP movies. :(

I know they'd stopped a couple years ago because supposedly the DVD's weren't selling. But the ones in the area have started selling them again it seems.

And the strange this is that the two locations have precisely the same discs for sale too. Some movie called Sucker Punch that isn't the Zack Snyder movie?? 10 copies of the same Spiderman 2 Blu-Ray with the crappy cover are that looks like photoshop? A Hellboy Director's Cut? Eerie.

The Barnes & Noble Criterion sale is on!

I walked away with

Postwar Kurosawa set, which includes: No Regrets for Our Youth, One Wonderful Sunday, Scandal, The Idiot and I Live in Fear.
The Bad Sleep Well
Paths of Glory
Sansho the Bailif

I held onto a gift card I got for Christmas just for this sale, so I ended up spending only $10.

I found a Trainspotting Blu-Ray at Target for $5.

And that's enough DVD's for me for the month.

A combination of birthday gifts & gift cards. MOSTLY FREE STUFF! Sorry, I just don’t have the discipline that Mavrach has to hold onto a gift card for 6 months  let alone 6 days. ;-)

Blade Runner: The Final Cut Blu Ray
Star Trek The Next Generation Season Three Blu Ray
Die Hard 25th Anniversary Blu Ray Collection
Drive Blu Ray (Only $4.99 at Best Buy, after I traded in the Drive DVD for $5 off)

That gift card meant 3 Criterions now, or 6 Criterions later. Realistically I won't watch them for that length of time anyway.

I've come a long way ;-)
