Bram Stoker's Dracula

Loved the review Brett - nice mix of movie info and tech info. This might sound like a slight compliment but some reviews (not necessarily yours) are sometimes unbalanced. I'm so glad to hear this is the edition I was waiting for.

My only qualm is that you didn't mention Tom Waits' great Renfield performance...

Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, Tom Waits is definitely a highlight of the film in many ways. Unfortunately in the final edit he was given precious little screen time when compared to other Renfields. You get to see some more of his performance in the deleted scenes.

Technically the DVD is the way to go. Coppola constructed a film that doesn't benefit from the high def format which will show its seams. It's an interesting conundrum, because perhaps there truly are some films you'll not want on a next-gen format.
Alex: It's funny how the colors of the real world only seem really real when you viddy them on the screen. (Clockwork Orange)
