Movie is of course key but what are you snacking on and drinking as you *ahem* enjoy the latest masterpiece from Uwe Boll?
Lately the snack has been Buffalo Dale's Hot Wing Popcorn and the brew has been Sierra Nevada's excellent Summerfest Lager. The non-alcoholic beverage of choice lately has been Boylan's Creamy Red Birch Beer. Totally yummy across the board.

Since the Hawaii trip it's been Wasabi Peas and homemade Poke. No brews, but there's a Polish vodka I've been loving over the last couple of days.

Most of the time, a cold soda and no food is the way of the walk, but on those big nights, for a film I've been dying to see, a Bass Ale along with cheese and crackers will do the trick.

My favorite beers lately have been Shiner Bock (hey, I live in Texas now!) and Abita Brown Ale or Turbodog. I really missed Oregon beer until I found Abita. Damn, they make good stuff.

The Abita was so much better 10 years ago. They expanded their brewery and the quality really took a dip. That said, the summerwheat is pretty good and I don't know if they send it out of state but if you see their IPA, pick it up. It is quite good.

Gave up suds in the 90s so usually have zinfandel and a Wal-Mart bought California Kitchen pizza for special DVDs.

Yeah, we eat wasabi peas all the time here (Honolulu), and I'm on a kimchee (hot spicy Korean pickled cabbage) binge lately, although that's kind of difficult to eat while watching a movie. Beverage of choice until recently was beer, especially Guinness, but in the interest of weight loss I've been dirnking lots of Schweppes Diet Tonic Water with cranberry juice, which is surprisingly refreshing over crushed ice, and garnished with a slice of kielbasa. Just kidding about the kielbasa.

I was just in your neck of the woods. Me and the wife spent three days in Honolulu and then went to Kona and spent a week at the Hapuna Beach Prince. I'd only remembered the Big Island from playing Army twice a year there, and forgot just how nice the place and food were (I'm pointing at Merriman's on that one).

Kona's great...we try to get over to the Big Island once or twice a year, to visit friends and have a change of pace from Honolulu, which is becoming more congested daily. When you were doing the Army gig, did you go up to the Pohakuloa Training Area? I went up (as a civilian, not service personnel) to run an obstacle course once...my hat is off to anyone who managed to complete it, especially being that it's at around 13,000 feet altitude. I've never been as tired as I was after that...not even sure I've recovered yet (5 years later!)

I'm not such a beer drinker but I do have tendency to get the munchies while watching some great films. Unfortunately I'm on a really extensive weight loss program which prevents me from eating the foods that are good for you. My biggest poison would probably be Pringles and Swedish Fish with allot of soda.

It sure was PTA. We did a roadmarch up Mauna Kea to get to the observatory, but that was many moons (and pounds) ago as well.

Do you order this from the site? It's mucho expensive! And I'm guessing the testimonial from Oprah isn't hurting the sales at all. I'd love to try it, but looks like at least $30 even for a simple sample pack once you factor in shipping. Oy vey!

I'm working out a lot, so I am avoiding snacks and beer like the plague. For a Texas boy that's rough.

I haven't had a beer for about 7 weeks now, and I think that's the longest time I've abstained from it since I was 14 years old...I may have to turn in my Irish Ancestry card by the end of the summer. That's why I've been drinking Tonic Water and cranberry juice lately, it's the only thing besides water (!) that's even remotely refreshing. As far as working out, I walked down to the supermarket to pick up groceries (half mile away) and came back with half regular groceries, half weird snacks like Hot Ika (dried spicy cuttlefish), assorted arare (rice crackers) and Mrs. Kite's favorite, garlic macadamia nuts. Those are so unusual tasting, I won't even eat them. Very often.

When I watch a movie at home, I normally have a pop (either a Pepsi or Sprecher's Root Bear) and popcorn - fresh and hot from the microwave.

I'm a Nachos or Popcorn kind of guy while watching a film at home, buttered popcorn when at the theatres. As for brews, we always seem to have a rather eclectic collection of beers in the beer fridge, so I could very well be drinking a belgian Chimay, St. Peters from the UK, a Czechvar lager, something from Germany or a US microbrew from someplace like Flying Dog.

I have no beer allegance whatsoever.

Snack? Whatever. Maybe Doritos, maybe sunflower seeds, maybe nothing.

Brew? Something so hoppy it tastes like grapefruit juice.

I eat tortillas for pretty much every meal of the day... my half-Mexican blood gives me an insatiable craving... Trader Joes has really good "handmade" tortillas that taste almost as good as my late abuela's...

For brew, my fridge is currently stocked with Red Tail Ale... last week it was Gorden Biersch Blonde Bock... mmm, good stuff!!

There's an excellent Taqueria about 500 yards from my house called Los Comales. Given that I'm a huge fan of azada and they have the best char-grilled asada in the Triangle (which means something, no matter where you hail from unless you live in Mexico), I consider myself very fortunate. So if movie night becomes gnawing hunger night, help is close by. Three bucks and five minutes later, I'm good.

Jake and I make our own tortillas. It's really easy and they're so good!

Jake and I are really health conscious as he is a vegan and I'm a vegetarian. We don't eat anything with hydrogenated oils or high fructose corn syrup...so that limits the snackage options significantly. However, we do eat hummus with tortillas or french bread frequently as well as indulge in some Boylan's Cane Cola at least once a week. I've also learned the recipe for a nifty vegan vanilla lavendar cake that tastes so damn good! I made the third one yesterday for my pal's birthday. Then of course there's popcorn cooked with olive oil. Yum!

I don't really buy alcohol to enjoy at home, I'll usually buy something if I'm at a concert or a bar or something. I'm not a connoisseur of brews, but I like Guinness, Red Stripe, and Mike's Hard Lemonade.

Usually I just drink Diet Coke and eat Skittles while I'm watching a movie. Someone asked me, "why don't you just drink regular Coke if you're eating candy?" I'm like, "Too sweet!!"

By the way, I don't like popcorn. Never have. Tried some once, didn't like it.
Our next film will be for the kiddies. And we'll demonstrate a new, poison gas.

I Love Kona. When we have periods of day in, day out rain on this side, it's so nice to go over there and rediscover what sunshine looks and feels like. Sometimes we take Saddle Road (that goes past Pohakuloa) to go over there but the road is so torn up in that area (Have they targeted it for artillary practice!) that I usually take the long way around. I also enjoy Poke. I like the Ahi (raw tuna) and Tako (octopus) varieties.
