The Blu-ray 1st Dips We Have All Been Expecting

Starz (Anchor Bay) has revealed that Halloween and both its Evil Dead films and Dawn of the Dead films will all be released on Blu-ray Disc this October (exact street dates TBA)!

I am shocked. Can't believe Anchor Bay is finally releasing new versions of these films... they seem so rare.

The no Disney thing is a damn strong kick in the nuts. I was saying before that hd-dvd had walmart and that would turn the tide. But I'm not so sure anymore. With a broken dvd player, a 500 dollar PS3 is extremely attractive as a replacement.

So can we expect the same boning we got from Anchor Bay during their many Halloween and Evil Dead standard Dvd releases? You know, this Dvd has a commentary, but this mew release has the documentary..but no commentary! Just added, a new interview with Jamie Lee Curtis...but we had to scrap the documentary! On sale Tuesday!

I mean, I may not upgrade at all if the extras don't start showing themselves. With all that extra storage BluRay affords, they sure are trimming the fat.

By all means get the $500 PS3 for Blu-ray and DVD if you want (make sure to upgrade the default OS with the newest one that enables upconverting of regular DVD discs) but a $200-250 HD-A2 HD-DVD player isn't such a bad deal either (especially the upconverting of regular DVD's).
