Alvin and the Chipmunks

Postby grejon » Mon Apr 21, 2008 1:15 pm

Just read Judge Douglas' review of AatC after my three-year-old thought they were so cute...couldn't agree more. What a waste of time.

Thing about it for me, though, is that I remember the chipmunks (and their theme song), and I don't remember them singing about Escalades or about "Chipmunk party don't stop"...I suppose I shouldn't ask why they made them wannabe rappers. I suppose seeing them transferred into this decade ruined the movie for me before I even watched the terrible, terrible plot.

Worse, I got her the package that comes with the music CD, thinking that it would be cute chipmunk tunes she'd enjoy (me, I want, a hoola hoop) but that song wasn't even on the disc. They were all half-chunked-together rap jives that sounded like a sped up Funkmaster Flex album.

Steve T Power, I remember you saying you considered yourself somewhat an expert in child psychology, what'd you think of this masterpiece? Anyone else think this #$%^ makes us and our offspring a little stupider for viewing?
"So I'm shavin' last night at this make-out party. I took a bunch of pictures, you can see 'em on my MySpace page, along with my favorite songs, and movies, and things that other people have created but that I use to express my individualism."

Steve T. Power is a fairly self-aware man-child with psychological issues. That doesn't make him an expert in child psychology, though.

What Dan said... My wife is the expert.

Me, i want this movie to burn in hell, and i think Jason Lee is now on my low-g list.
As the ancient Tibetan philosophy states:"Don't start none... won't be none...".
