I can't recommend this enough. Truly educational and McDowell is an entertaining guide.

Archive Interactive: Malcolm McDowell on Free Cinema

Introduction
Fifty years ago, a programme of short documentary films changed British cinema for ever. In the third of our series developed in partnership with BT, screen legend Malcolm McDowell introduces an interactive history of Free Cinema, the pivotal but under-recognised film movement of the late 1950s. Join Malcolm as he leads you through a fascinating body of documentary work, offering insights into a past that is both recent and unreachably distant.
