Mike's review of AVP:R

Postby BenShultz » Fri May 02, 2008 4:53 pm

Good review, Mr. Stailey, but I would just like to point out one small detail. You quote Judge Floyd as saying that Requiem is "easily the best sequel in either franchise", but he actually continued that statement by saying "since James Cameron's Aliens." Were it not for Cameron's film, it might be easy to consider that Requiem is the best sequel so far, considering the competition. But Aliens is held in such high regard that the way you quote him, it appears that he's making one heck of an audacious claim.
Oh, you're paying way too much for worms, man. Who's your worm guy?

Agreed. The partial quote completely misrepresents Judge Floyd's position.

I hope you're not being sarcastic, because there's really no need for it. I was just saying that, when I read Stailey's quote, I did a double take because I found it hard to believe that Floyd could consider AVP:R superior to Aliens. I think both Stailey and Floyd give very compelling arguments representing both sides of the coin, and I certainly respect Floyd looking at the side of the coin that very few people could see. Or, um, well you know what I mean.

Don't worry boys. The oversight/misrepresentation has been corrected.
