The new I have an XBox 360 Gaming Topic

Well today I got one of the biggest shocks of my life. My best friend showed up to play some XBox 360 (he brings his system over since I've yet to get one due to being short on funds from grad school). He pulls from the back seat of his car a new X360 Arcade and tells me, early Merry Christmas and early Happy Birthday. So now I'm finally in the next-gen of gaming and have online.

He loaned me a couple games until I get a few of my own (as well as a Hard Drive since the arcade is lacking one) and I got a free month of XBox Live Gold.

My gamertag is Industrial Arts if anyone wants to add me. The only online game I have at the moment is Call of Duty 4, so if you're up for a game of that let me know.

The other game I borrowed is Dead Rising which was loads of fun last time I played it on his system.

What would you 360 owners say are must buy games?

I know GTA IV and Fallout 3 are, so they're on my list, I'll probably get Far Cry 2 in a few weeks, and I'm able to borrow Assassins Creed and Oblivion.
I will make note that I have zero interest in purchasing any music games since I don't have the space nor the money to invest in them.

"Bioshock"

Just picked it up on PS3 last week and love it. I think it's the art deco style that's doing it for me, but the interesting story and fun gameplay certainly don't hurt either.

Gears of War 1 AND 2 for sure.

I'm also a huge fan of Ghost Recon: advanced Warfighter 2 - 29 bucks and about5 1200 MS points nets you the game and almost 60 (!) multiplayer maps. The pace is also much more strategic and laid back than Call of Duty 4.

Also huge honking props to Fallout 3 and Farcy 2 - which are my current 1 and 2 spots for game of the year.

Dead Space looks awesome, plus I got to catch up on all XBox 1 games... Only had a GameCube last console generation

That's how you get addicted.

I never had any of the Xbox systems, but I got the PS2 only a year and a half ago. It's great to be able to get most of the games for $20 and under.
+1. this is very interesting.

Sadly a lot of the XBox 1 games aren't backwards compatible with the 360. That said there's plenty of new stuff to keep you entertained for a few years out now on the 360.

I'll third that recommendation for Far Cry 2. Some of the best physics I've seen related to a virtual game world, particularly involving fire. You can sneak up to an encampment, and depending upon wind direction can toss a molotov cocktail and have the fire move toward it and burn the place down.

Definately not recommended for the kiddies though, this isn't a fantasy or Sci-Fi based shooter. None of your opponents are monsters or aliens, they're all humans. You can turn the blood spatter off, but you're still firing automatic weapons and causing mayhem against targets that look like the average joe you pass on the street, not the best thing for young impressionable minds.
