He was a consultant on its production....right? Boetticher was either a bull fighter himself or he was well immersed in the world....something like that.
And yeah, Boetticher is pretty underrated as a director and especially as a director of westerns. Granted nothing I've seen by him reaches the heights of classic John Ford or Anthony Mann but in that group of directors which comes right after them he was pretty good.

I pre-ordered mine on Amazon - we'll see how that goes.

Aside: It also has the fantastic English dub from the R2 SE, and that alone makes it well worth the price of admission. It is also coming to old fashioned DVD. (See that Chamucamel!)
