I just wanted to field test that excuse before I tried to explain how I own both Flashdance and Ghost on Blu-Ray.

That hurts. Hey, I owned Dirty Dancing for a while. Thankfully, my wife doesn't really rewatch movies, so I put Baby in the corner.

It's not a pain that a little Sam Peckinpah can't fix.

I wish Peckinpah had directed Ghost. The stories of him making Patrick Swayze cry like a little girl on set would now be legendary.

Problem is that if Peckinpah had directed it would've starred Ernest Borgnine. Try to imagine that sweaty frame draped over Demi Moore.

I just got some money for editing a Christian Christmas anthology (don't ask), and my tentative plan is to spend a portion of it on virtually every Batman, live-action and animated, DVD ever made.

This isn't nearly as expensive as it sounds.

Found Bye Bye Birdie at local Tar-zhay. Hadn't seen it in, ahem, a number years. Yeah, yeah, I can appreciate Ann-Margret but Janet Leigh was a fox.

Been looking for Ghost In The Shell 2: Innocence on BD, but no luck in this podunk town. I did however buy my 3rd copy of Serenity.

Me (to Joss whedon): Here. Just take 10% of each paycheck.
Joss Whedon: Thanks! Did you pick up Dr. Horrible last week?

This has been on my radar for about a month, since I learned that my newly discovered favorite Western director Budd Boetticher had a hand in its making.

He was a consultant on its production....right? Boetticher was either a bull fighter himself or he was well immersed in the world....something like that.
And yeah, Boetticher is pretty underrated as a director and especially as a director of westerns. Granted nothing I've seen by him reaches the heights of classic John Ford or Anthony Mann but in that group of directors which comes right after them he was pretty good.

It's out on the 13th, and it's Bandai, so it's gonna be rare.

I pre-ordered mine on Amazon - we'll see how that goes.

Aside: It also has the fantastic English dub from the R2 SE, and that alone makes it well worth the price of admission. It is also coming to old fashioned DVD. (See that Chamucamel!)

Ninja-wizard edit:

picked up:

Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles (blu-ray)
SWAT (blu-ray) less than 10 bucks!
Rise of the Argonauts (PS3)

And preordered my copies of Innocence: Ghost in the Shell 2 and Akira on blu-ray!

Dammit! And I just picked up the old R1 version a few weeks ago. I may have to double dip.

Looks like I'm gonna hunt this one down.

Now if they'd just get around to putting out Stand Alone Complex and SAC 2nd Gig on BD, then we'd be in business.

V for Vendetta on Blu-ray, because it happened to be on sale and because I felt like watching it again for some reason.

I just think it's awesome that there are others who share my love of Oshii/Ghost in the Shell.

And yeah... I'm thinking about starting a Ghost In The Shell thread.

Still square. New moniter to come in a couple of weeks. I wasn't expected the old one computer to die on me.
