Watchman Casting Details

Some interesting choices to be sure. I hope Snyder can pull it off. From Newsarama.

Having seen Snyder's only two films, I predict a lot of over-the-top action scenes and community theater style overacting. I'm also predicting Tyler Bates will plagarize from Zimmer's and Howard's Batman Begins score as well as Graeme Revell's score to The Crow.

The only two cast members that give me the impression of being able to do a great job are Haley and Wilson.

As pretentious as Aronofsky is, I still felt he was the best man for the job on this film.

I don't see any problems. The director will make it look stunning, it will have some good action, and the cast will look good in the outfits. Sounds like a homerun.

i dunno, i'd watch Jeffrey Dean Morgan read the phonebook....and if he was nekkid, it wouldn't have to be a good phonebook.

Sorry, I just don't feel good about this.

Watchmen was an intricately plotted 500+ page graphic novel that didn't have practically any slack in those 500 pages. Pretty much everything Moore and Gibbons included was essential to the plot, and if they start truncating stuff it'll cause the whole piece to fall apart like a house of cards.

It may look pretty, but I'm getting a real Ralph Bakshi, attempt to condense the first two books of LOTR into one movie, debacle brewing here.

I'll reserve judgment. I'm torn between my skepticism and my desire to see the movie done well.

I'm sure they could streamline down the black kid reading the pirate comic book. Moore wasn't exactly the fastest paced writer.

By invoking the dreaded Bakshi, you've all but guaranteed that Watchmen will suck, which it probably would have anyway. Maybe they can hire him to do some of that cool rotoscoping he's known for, so the movie will have that "true-life" feel. Maybe delete the annoying plot twists, and a few characters. You know, put the Bakshi stamp all over it.

This is a project that probably never should have been green-lighted... There is pretty much no way that Moore's story can be condensed into a 2 hour movie without seriously dumbing it down and dropping several side-plotlines.

Aronofsky was probably the one person that I can think of that would have possibly done justice to the source material. If this classic work is made into some mass-market blow-em-up popcorn flick... I will not be happy. Calls will be made. Actions taken. *hurm*
