Stubblecat here, living in Kitchener, Ontario for the last decade, but most of the previous 27 years was spent in my two homes of Halifax and Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
I also did 5 years in Comox, B.C. back in the 80s.
I miss Nova Scotia donairs, which (for those of you who don't know) is a mountain of sliced spicy beef-like mystery meat wrapped in a soft pita with tomatoes, onions and a sweet sauce made mostly of evaporated milk, sugar and vinegar. It's a hybrid Greek/Lebanese thing. It looks like this:

The meat is sliced too thin, but it's the best picture I could wrangle.
Not pretty, but pretty tasty. They make something like it here in Ontario, but it's all wrong.
