Does anyone else have one of these?
Is this a waste of time?
Is this the ultimate in time-wasting?

Regardless, I just got one today, and was wondering what the general consensus was.

i tried it...i think it works best off a handheld device

i am too busy on my computer(s) to stop every few minutes to update a running commentary on my lame ass life..
IF i was someplace interesting...like an event or an accident, it would probably come in hand to 'live blog' the event.
like having a teletype machine in your palm

but barring that, it seems narcissistic and silly.

Like Facebook, it's great if you have friends (meaning people you've, like, actually met and stuff) that you want to keep in touch and/or joke around with on a day-to-day basis. If not, it's a waste of time.

Oh that Twitter. From the original post I thought it was some sort of physical object,
Does anyone else have one of these?
Twitter does have its uses: https://twitter.com/nytimesmovies is worthwhile, .../CassiniSaturn and .../MarsRovers give one the skinny from off planet. It's fun.

Agreed! Some are unfulfilled unless they fire off a tweet every 1½ minutes.

Found this at TechCrunch via digg

The site, which has been all the rage on Twitter for the last few days, shows direct (private) messages that were sent improperly on Twitter and are therefore public.
Has link to DMFail.

"The Twitter Song" by Alana Taylor

When I wake up in the morning,
The first thing I see,
Is an e-mail in my Gmail,
Sayin' you're followin' me.

And next thing you know,
I'm followin' you,
Not everybody does it,
But me and Scoble do.

Chorus:
Cuz Twitter beats Facebook any day,
140 characters is all you need to say.

Cool thing 'bout Twitter is you meet new people,
You even get to stalk the famous ones too,
We've got Veronica Belmont from Mahalo Daily,
Barack Obama and Hugh MacLeod too.

Chorus

Twitter's like a family,
As long as you're not spamming me,
We keep in touch, we share too much,
And @Garyvee meets up for lunch!

Chorus

But be careful, with you're iPhone...
Don't DM the whole worlldddddd

No kiddin': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qrmTJWbmdU. I don't have a Twitter, but I do have a Facebook, er, I am on Facebook.
