Which is a shame because as far as comics were concerned there had never been anything like Howard the Duck....subversive, post-modern, funny, bizarre and just plain weird. Writer Steve Gerber was operating on a whole different reality than anyone else in comics.

His Headmen run on the Defenders is still one of the best storylines ever for me...the guy was kinda nuts, but it was some mighty interesting comics.
