Street Fighter IV anyone?

So, who among you is man enough to fight with me? Anybody scoring Street Fighter IV next week? By all accounts, it looks hella-awesome.

I'll be picking it up for sure. Not out till next Friday over here in the UK, but I'll be down at my local game store to pick it up first thing that morning.

I hear it's a little more accessible that Street Fighter III, which I love, and the visuals are simply amazing. Pretty great character roster for this one too, which was perhaps the one failing with SFIII.

Pick it up on PlayStation 3, look up kidinthehelmet and I will stain my hands with your blood. This game is gonna be Tony Danza.

Sorry Jon, but it's the 360 for me. I suppose you have been spared having your neck snapped with a Gief spinning piledriver.

I was gonna go the PS3 route, but to be honest everyone I know is getting this on Xbox. Typical of the PS3, great machine but not enough people have one.

Still, I feel the urge to get out SFIII: Third Strike on my 360 and get reacquainted with Ken Masters.

If I didn't fork over for the pesos for the fightpad I probably would have gotten it for the PS3 because the awful 360 D-pad was forged in Mount Doom.

The fightpad is boss, by the way, and I've been sparring with SFIII (using my backwards compatible Xbox SF Anniversary Collection) to fine-tune the semi-circles and 360 degree spins and controller frustration flings (Gill @#$%#&*#$ sucks) that will come in handy next week when IV hits.

Glad to hear the Fightpad is good. It's due out over here later this month (I believe), and I've been on the lookout for a decent pad for SFIV. Still, with enough practice the standard 360 controller isn't too bad. Just takes some getting us to...although Sagat's Tiger Knee is still hit or miss.

I'll be playing it tonight! But my purchase will be made on the PS3.

I'll definitely bring a 360 copy into my house at some point. You must defeat my dragon punch to stand a chance!

Looks like it's been online for a couple of days now, but here's a link to the SFIV opening movie.

And to help get us all in the mood (not that we aren't already), here is the single greatest moment of skill I've ever seen in Street Fighter. For those who have tried to master the parry system in SFIII, you'll appreciate this.

Just finished playing about 90 minutes of it. It's good. It's VERY VERY good. But things have definitely changed. It's a little more tactical than it used to be, and reliance on pummeling with combo chains is a thing of the past.

I'll get it at some point. I've found that no matter how much I like a fighting game, I only end up playing it for a few days before moving on to something else. Besides, I downloaded Street Fighter II HD Remix a few months ago.
+1. this is very interesting.

Same here. I bought the Anniversary Collection for XBox a couple years back and played it for a week and then it went back on the shelf.

But with the more refined online modes thanks to Xbox Live and PSN, the feel of an arcade is now available at home. With the ability to challenge anyone anywhere, we're talking replayability of untold fathoms.
