Hey there,

Okay, if we're gonna play the oldest title game, here's another: who's got the most Out-of-Print (OOP) titles in their collection? I stand at 47. I'm sure there's folks with more out there. Let's hear from ya.

I'm sure there are a few, but i was shocked at how much some people were willing to pay for a copy of 1984. And since i had two... well... That was a FEW extra games for Steve.

Funny, as 1984 just sat for months on the shelf at local Best Buy after release. Wish I'd bought two.

A handful of early Laserdisc-to-DVD Criterions ("Robocop," "Silence of the Lambs," "Hard Boiled," etc.), various "Gatchaman" ADV Box Sets (loved the toon as a kid), the original Vol. 10 of "MST3K Collection" Rhino Box Set (which had to be recalled almost as soon as it was released when the "Godzilla" movie rights became entangled), Anchor Bay's 2-disc "Supergirl" SE with the Extended International Version, etc. All in all about 10-15 discs. Ask me about my videogame collection though, which has a handful of titles worth quite a few bucks on eBay: "Panzer Dragoon Saga" (the holy grail of Sega Saturn collectors), "Waterworld" for the Virtual Boy, the original "Klonoa" for PS1, etc.

^^^ HD-DVD as a format may be dead but most of the movies released for it are still available on Blu-ray (looking/sounding identical) and DVD. The format may be dead but I don't consider the movies released for it OOP (except for some Universal catalogue titles like "Streets of Rage" that still haven't been released on BD). If HD-DVD counts as OOP then I win because I have over a hundred of them (and counting! ).

OK I will! What collectable ones do you have? I also have Panzer Dragoon Saga but don't know what games are collectable or rare or what they're worth. Is there a website that lists such things? Speaking of the Saturn; The one that got away was Radiant Silvergun. I ordered it back in the day from Game Cave but it was out- of-stock so they said they would ship when it came in but then they folded........Grrrrrrrrrr!

Your best bet is to just check price on Amazon and Ebay. I've had quite a few, that have been traded off for handsome profits if i have other means of playing them (Chrono Trigger for SNES made me $150, and since i have three other versions lying around, it was no biggie). Dracula X for the Turbo Duo was another i had (which i sold for a fraction of its worth... ugh). I still have some pretty rare ps1 and ps2 stuff, a lot of collector's editions and a decent NES collection. More recently i've decided that no game no longer in print is to leave the collection, so i'm hoping to stick with that. I've parted with way too much stuff when hard up for a dollar (Suikoden 1 and 2, Final Fantasy 7, 8, & 9, ugh... i'm an idiot sometimes, but man did they ever pay bills).

Panzer Dragoon Saga has long been a sought after title for me, alongside Valkyrie Profile for the PSone.

Besides the one's mentioned: "House of the Dead" (US Saturn version), "Puzzle Link 1 & 2"/"Magical Drop Pocket" (NeoGeo Pocket Color), "Burning Rangers" (US Saturn version), "Cannon Spike" (Dreamcast), "Magic Knight Rayearth" (US Saturn version), "Giga Wing 2/Mars Matrix" (Dreamcast), a Turbo Duo system w/S-Video output (needs fixing though) and games, etc. I've sold a few over the years ("Valkarye Profile" PS1 for $100, "Chrono Trigger" SNES for $120, "Lucien's Quest" 3DO RPG for $140, etc.) and regretted it afterwards because, even if I didn't play them, owning them made me feel special. The money was quickly spent for whatever I needed but the emptiness afterwards is killer.

I feel special-I have all of the titles you mention plus I forgot about the various Working Designs titles and strategy guides I've gotten, for various systems, over the years.
