PS3 controller help please

Postby mkiker2089 » Sun May 03, 2009 6:51 pm

Talk to me about controllers. I have a controller from my brief stint at PC gaming. It's an Axis Pad. I pluged it into the ps3 just for the heck of it and darned if it doesn't work. It doesn't have a start button but as a player 2 type thing it does fine. For some reason it's force feedback doesn't work either but it doesn't in XP without installing a driver so that's not too unexpected. Any suggestions on a good but dirt cheap controller be it either for a computer or off brand PS3. I'm looking for second controllers just in case of guests and for my nephew just in case he has guests at his house or steps on his Dualshock again.

The only problem so far is that every time I boot up the system even if I use the Dualshock to do it the USB controller sets as 1 and the Dualshock as 2. Is there a way the make a controller permanently number 1?

Any controller physically connected is going to take priority because the PS3 handshakes with the USB ports before it registers Bluetooth devices. There's not a huge amount of 3rd party stuff out there in terms of controllers, but logitech does make a nice wireless one that's half cheap.
As the ancient Tibetan philosophy states:"Don't start none... won't be none...".
