Just ordered WWE's Best of the 90's compilation. Match listing looks pretty good.

Yeah, the matches seem more appealing than the doc. Trying to sum up the 90s WCW/WWF/ECW era in two hours is insane.

Friday Night Lights S2 at Best Buy for around $20.
The Secret of Roan Inish, a surprise find at Target for $5.50. No way I could be that lucky, so I expected the packaging to say full screen, but nope. Widescreen anamorphic.

Cleopatra (1934)
Johnny Got His Gun

The Newsroom Season One (aka Seasons 1&2 of the first series)
The Newsroom Season Two (actually the first part of the second series)
The Newsroom Season Three (the latter part of the second series)

I remember liking the show when it first ran in the 90s, and they were selling for $4.99 a season, so what the hell.

After years of staring at it I finally pulled the trigger and purchased all four series of Terry Nation's classic Brit-fi, Blake's 7. I also picked up a lot of Doctor Who to replace my ugly Amierican editions. Serials include "The Horror of Fang Rock", "Robots of Death", "The Aztecs", "Pyramids Of Mars", "Image of the Fendahl", "The Talons Of Weng Chiang" and the new release, "The Deadly Assassin." Also included in my Britfest include, 10 Days to War, the comedy series FM, Free Agents, Gavin and Stacey: 2008 Christmas Special, Time Tunnel, Human Remains, Moll Flanders, The Armando Iannaucci Shows, Tripods: Complete Series,
Look Around You: Series 1 & 2, Being Human s.1, The Nightmare Man, Doctor Terrible's House of Horrible, The Thick of It: Specials, Dead Set, Spoons s.1, Ideal s.4, The Red Riding Trilogy and Tripping the Velvet.

I have watched a couple of episodes and am pretty impressed by the show.
Today I picked up Wise Blood: Criterion as well as The Skull and The Foot Fist Way. After the greatness of Observe and Report I think I'm going to become a Jody Hill junkie.

Just know (a) only "Wrath of Khan" has been remastered top-to-bottom for high-def (the other five are using masters struck years ago for the DVD releases) and (b) they're the theatrical cuts, not the director/expanded cuts Paramount released on DVD. A BD double-dip is definitely coming but not for a while, probably around the time JJ Abrams' "Star Trek" sequel arrives in theaters. Your patience, your money, your choice.

Yeah, I do know that. Still, some reviews say they're upgrades but not top-of-the-line stuff. I'm tempted but trying to be good. I have coupons for both Amazon and Best Buy but...

From what I have seen if your display unit is 50 inches or less you should probably buy away. If you are talking one of those monster screens your hesitation might well be justified. Still Wrath of Kahn is supposed to look spectacular.

Ditto. One of Lang's best American films and it looks like Fox went all out for it as well.

Got some extra money from Uncle Sam so went absolutely nuts at the discount stores (online and in real life). For a little over 100 bucks total with taxes and shipping included I got brand-new:

HD-DVD: "Grand Prix," "Wyatt Earp," "A Room with a View," "The Road Warrior," "Top Gun," "The Heartbreak Kid," "Next," "Disturbia," "Tim Burton's Corpse Bride," "Spy Game," "Meet the Parents," "Meet the Fockers," "Midnight Run," "Field of Dreams," "Erin Brokovich," "Meet Joe Black," "Fletch" and "The Searchers."

DVD: Wanted: Dead Or Alive Seasons 1, 2 and 3 (five bucks per season) and United 93.

Usually around noon or early Tuesday afternoon is when ALF posts his Tuesday haul. Guess with the economy tanking, the residual checks from NBC in short supply and the NHL Season almost over ALF needs the extra day to think things through! 8)

Alf used to post his Tuesday haul at around noon or early in the afternoon on Tuesdays but he decided it was much easier to do it in the morning when he's drinking his Tim Hortons coffee and going on the computer.

I found my copy used as well; it was one of the "exclusive" titles from Blockbuster Video. Be interested to hear your take; I've only seen a handful of Johnnie To films but really liked it. Next up is Mad Detective.

Finally got around to getting Forbidden Hollywood Collection: Volumn 3. Shame on me for taking soooo long to pick this one up. I only wish all the films had commentary tracks.
Don't remember if I posted that I also got The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Da Vinci Code on Blu-ray.

BTW-With the new board format: Are we posting watching and bought Blu-rays under the Blu-ray section or just lumping them in with the DVDs. Just curious.
