The dreaded red ring!

Postby Steve T Power » Mon Jun 22, 2009 7:34 pm

Two goddamn systems in one week.....

First my elite - just over a year old, one of the new-ish Falcon chipsets with practically zero heat. Supposed to be Red-Ring proof. It isn't. Turn it on for the first time in a week, and it dies.

Then my old Platinum, itself a replacement for my original launch system, dies tonight whilst i'm attempting to revisit Mass Effect. Ugh.

I could understand if i was one of these 9-10 hours a day gamers, or if i actually didn't look after my machines. But noooo - they're stored in a well ventilated area and dusted once every two weeks...

My only wish is that Microsoft could actually engineer a damned video game console to save their lives... Or that Mass Effect existed for the Playstation 3.
As the ancient Tibetan philosophy states:"Don't start none... won't be none...".

the whole thing amazes me.

Nintendo had the market but let politics get in the way.
Sony was known for slightly underpowered consoles on their first two times out now they have the bling boy but who can afford it.
Microsoft has made a fortune selling crap and could care less yet consumers still lap it up like it's god's gift.

Last year when it was time for me to choose a system to buy, all the red ring crap was a big factor in my picking the PS3. No problems there.

Seriously this is ridiculous.
+1. this is very interesting.
