After only seven shows Conan O'Brien's "Tonight Show" is beaten by David Letterman's "Late Show" for the first time: http://www.tvweek.com/tvmojoe/2009/06/dave-beats-conan-panic-at-nbc.php. Conan will probably get the last laugh with a higher 18-49 demo audience than Dave (who is skewing older as he ages) but the fact is that, under Leno, "The Tonight Show" never came close to be beaten by Letterman for the past 14 years (heck, "Nightline" often came in second behind Leno and ahead of Letterman). Nice going NBC!

"House" is the world's most-watched show (with "CSI: Vegas" and "CSI: Miami" behind); "Desperate Housewives," "Monk" and "Ugly Betty" are the most-watched comedies: http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,25628346-12377,00.html.

HitFix liveblogs the the final Lost panel at ComicCon. I would have loved to have been there for that one. No time travel. No flash forwards. Interesting.

Hitfix also liveblogged the Chuck panel and hints that we get the series back earlier than any of us thought fills by heart with joy. Everyone...pick up the DVD sets. The show really is the most entertaining 43+ minutes on TV.

Watched the first two eps of Ruby and the Rockits and once you get past the truly retarded title, it's charming little half hour show that you can watch with your entire family. Former heartthrob David Cassidy plays the over-the-hill obnoxious rock star perfectly, and real life brother Patrick Cassidy is the uptight brother who still enjoys his one time celebrity, but has learned to let it go when need be and concentrate on his family, including Ruby, the niece that his irresponsible brother is clearly not capable of taking care of. Ruby is played by Alexa Vega, and if she continues to sing as she has in the first two episodes, her crossover success as a singer won't be far away. I think the Cassidy clan knows just a bit about that sort of things so I won't be too surprised. The more or less completely unknown rest of the cast really make this a good ensemble, including Kurt Doss as the younger brother who gets some great lines to work with as he watches his older brother deal with an attraction to cousin Ruby. Not to be missed is the "retro" videos of fictional "Rockits" band as the Cassidy boys perform some truly heinous rock and roll in the late 80's style.
Shaun Cassidy Productions hits another home run, let's see if people will catch on to this one.
