Focus Films For November

No surprise but neither of these films made it down NOLA way. Here is hoping Thirst has some features as Park Chan-Wook usually has things to say about his movies. Details from DVD Times:

Universal Studios Home Entertainment have announced Region 1 DVD release of Thirst on 17th November 2009 priced at $29.98 SRP. From director Park Chan-wook (OldBoy) comes this original vampire story with a chilling, erotic style. A blood transfusion saves the life of a priest, but also transforms him into a vampire. He struggles to control his insatiable thirst for blood until a love affair unleashes his darkest desires in deadly new ways.

No extras are listed. The film is presented in anamorphic widescreen with Korean DD5.1 Surround audio and subtitles in English (burned in), English SDH, French and Spanish. We’re not sure how the burned in English subs will work when there are also options for French and Spanish, but I’m sure Universal have listed films in this way before and they turned out to be optional.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment have announced Region 1 DVD release of The Limits of Control on 17th November 2009 priced at $29.98 SRP. This thriller by director Jim Jarmusch follows a mysterious loner (De Bankolé) who arrives in Spain with instructions to meet various strangers, each one a part of his dangerous mission. The international cast includes Isaach De Bankolé, Gael García Bernal, John Hurt, Tilda Swinton and Bill Murray.

Features include:
■Anamorphic Widescreen
■English DD5.1 Surround
■English SDH, French and Spanish subtitles
■Behind Jim Jarmusch - Part 1
■Behind Jim Jarmusch - Part 2
■Untitled Landscapes

I'm quite curious to see both of these, though a lot of the reviews claim that The Limits of Control is one of the weakest Jarmusch films in some time.
