A little amazon.uk order....Doctor Who: Dalek War boxset...Pertwee Doctor.
Survivors: Series 1-3....Brit sci-fi end-of-the-world show from Dalek creator Terry Nation.
FAQ About Time Travel....something I have heard is pretty funny plus it stars Chris O'Dowd..and if you watch The IT Crowd you know exactly who I'm talking about.

Broke my two-month drought on purchases with Lucio Fulci's The New York Ripper and Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, both for Blu-ray . Should make for an interesting double feature.

BTW, you know the home video market is in the toilet when we're nine days into October and thepegsdave... I'm sorry, ALF... I'm sorry, the two hungover dead birds haven't bought anything yet and posted the pictures online for us to gawk at in jealousy. :)

Playing Shakespeare....it's a 4 disc set which consists of master classes with RSC director John Barton and features Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Ben Kingsley and others. I have had my eye on it for about ten years. With store discounts and coupons I picked it up for 75% off. So, yeah...exciting.

I didn't get to see Transformers 2 in the theater, and have read all the bad reviews and comments here.
But... I bought it at Walmart on Blu-ray and not only was it $19.96 but the Walmart Blu-ray is the IMAX version that they're calling "WALMART “BIG SCREEN” EXCLUSIVE" that is a little longer than the theatrical.
Haven't watched it yet, but the IMAX scenes are supposed to "open up" like "The Dark Knight" Blu-ray.
Please forgive me for this purchase.

The IMAX part sounds cool, but no Transformers flick needs to be longer. Ever. I haven't seen RotF, but I'd have enjoyed the first one a lot more if it was 30-45 minutes shorter.

It's only a minute or two longer. And I read a post from Harry at aintitcool.com saying the same thing about RotF. He said something like "if 40-45 minutes of the bad stuff was edited out it would make a decent movie, but who would want to spend time doing that". Maybe "The Phantom Editor" would give it a shot?

A version of RotF that didn't have the dog sex, robot balls, robot humping, closeups of John Tuturro's ass, racism and misogyny might make an amusingly bad hour-and-a-half flick. It would make even less sense, although I really don't know. It might start making sense.
