Anyone think African Queen has a good chance on DVD now?

Anyone think African Queen has a good chance on DVD now?

I seem to recall Paramount and Criterion signing a deal recently.

African Queen seems to be the definitive Paramount owned title that deserves a Criterion level release.

Lovely! I would really like to see additional material related to this movie, docs or whatever. Of course, we have the fictitious White Hunter, Black Heart but it'd be nice to see some source documentary material on the making of TAQ.

I don't have any additional info for the movie, but I do regarding the book:

(Spoiler for the book - not the movie)

Author C.S. Forester published the novel in 1935 and wrote different endings for the American and British editions.
In the British edition, the Royal Navy arrives to sink the German ship and Rose and Charlie are saved.
In the American edition, the torpedo fails to sink the ship and Charlie drowns.

I don't understand why Paramount hasn't released this title yet. They should have released this title by 2003 at the latest, but here we are, 2007 and no release....

It makes no sense.
