In his comment on "Mrs. Minniver" (as one of the Best Pictures among TCM's Greatest Classic Films), Brett Collum calls Greer Garson's Mrs. Minniver "brassy." To be sure, she is assertive, but the tone of that assertiveness is far too tender and complex to be called "brassy." And the character does not, as Collum claims, have "sons" flying for the RAF; she has only one son flying. The film deserves its kudos, its title role deserves to be better summarized, and the number of sons flying deserves to be accurately reported.
